The charter notebook
A Monaco yacht day for two, with space for the occasion.
For two people leaving Monaco, a well-placed table and considerate crew service can matter more than a larger yacht. Describe the anniversary, proposal or quiet coastal day you want, including any moment that needs discreet preparation.
The visit and its shore arrangements
A meal and a route that belong together
A lunch aboard and a dinner ashore create different coastal programmes. If a restaurant appointment is fixed, give the operator its location and timing before settling the charter. The landing or transfer must be feasible, and the yacht’s return should not be left as an afterthought.
For time entirely aboard, discuss how food is prepared and served and where the two of you will sit. A simple meal can suit the occasion well when it is arranged carefully. A chef, particular drinks, flowers or other items require explicit confirmation and may involve separate providers or charges.
Inside the yacht dossier
Decide what private means to you
A private yacht charter usually still has a skipper and, depending on the vessel, other crew aboard. Explain whether you prefer attentive hosting or longer periods to yourselves within the operating arrangement. The crew’s presence and responsibilities should be clear; privacy does not mean the yacht becomes unsupervised.
Think about the places you will actually use together. A comfortable pair of seats in shade, a table with a view and an indoor retreat may be more important than several cabins. Ask for photographs of those areas on the offered hull, including how they are used while cruising and at a stop.
Starting from Monaco
The actual boarding point should be confirmed before a car is ordered. A yacht requested for Monaco may meet you at Port Hercule, Fontvieille or another agreed marina. Ask about any repositioning and what time is genuinely yours aboard, especially when the charter fits between other plans.
The captain can assess a westward outline towards Cap-d’Ail or an eastern coastal direction around your priorities. If a swim is part of the idea, discuss water access and support. A scenic route is not an automatic promise of a private cove, a landing or exclusive use of an area.
Choose a vessel by the experience it supports
An open craft, a sports yacht and a larger flybridge yacht offer different kinds of shelter and space. Compare them through the photographs and services that matter to the occasion. A larger yacht can be right, but it should answer a need rather than simply make the surprise more expensive.
Send your date, available hours and whether the outing marks an anniversary, proposal or time together. Add the desired meal, photography and level of crew involvement. Ask for the named yacht, exact boarding arrangement, complete costs and change terms so the personal occasion rests on a clear practical plan.
A proposal without an overfilled timetable
If you plan to propose, choose one organiser and one person handling the confidential details with the provider. Discuss the desired moment, any ring or personal-item storage and how a photographer might be introduced. The objective is to make the practical coordination quiet, rather than turn the entire outing into a sequence of cues.
Leave room for the real day. Light, weather, a late arrival or a changed route may affect the original idea. Agree an alternative that preserves the occasion without depending on one exact background or stopping place. A photograph of a previous sunset cannot establish the conditions for your date.
