The charter notebook

A Monaco yacht day that works for the whole family.

A family charter works better when the youngest and least confident boat guest are included in the choice. Explain ages and whether this is a first outing. A shaded cockpit close to a bathroom can be more valuable than another deck or a longer route along the coast.

The visit and its shore arrangements

Look at the route through the children’s day

Boarding, the safety briefing, lunch and any rest all take time. Choose one main aim for the outing and leave the rest flexible. Swimming is something to discuss with the captain, not a guaranteed stop, and accompanying adults remain responsible for supervising children.

Ask the actual provider to confirm suitable safety equipment, steps, handholds and access to guest spaces. If several generations are travelling together, mention any difficulty with a gangway or stairs before the vessel is selected.

Make arrival simple

Have a single meeting point in Monaco or the agreed nearby marina, with arrival instructions the whole party can use. Clarify any transfer or delivery arrangement and ask for the complete price for the family, including requested food and drinks.

The final proposal should name the yacht and its permitted cruising capacity. Representative photographs and saved style preferences help explain the brief; they are not evidence that a particular boat or date has been secured.
